Tax Sale Surplus
Ruckwood Recovery can help you submit your claim with ease
🧑‍⚖️ You Have the Right to File a Claim on Your Own — But You Don’t Have to Do It Alone
Under Missouri law, homeowners and heirs have every legal right to file a claim for surplus funds or unclaimed property without assistance. However, what the law allows and what the system supports are often two different realities.
In practice, navigating the claims process alone can be overwhelming and discouraging—especially when counties:
Lack the staff or training to assist claimants
Provide outdated, incomplete, or hard-to-access public records
Fail to notify next of kin of the sale when property owner is deceased
Offer little to no guidance on how to file correctly
This is where RuckWood Recovery steps in.
We bring experience, advocacy, and compassion to the table—ensuring you understand all of your rights as a claimant and have the best possible chance of recovering what is rightfully yours.
