ABOUT US
RuckWood Recovery is 100% veteran owned, family run asset recovery company based in St.louis County. Our sole goal and purpose is helping the citizens of St.Louis and St.Charles County gain from loss in a time in our country's history, where every dollar counts to the average American family.
Over 95% of surplus funds go unclaimed by the rightful and legal owners. This means that money belonging to the citizens is kept and hoarded by the local collections, with minimal to no effort to return it to the right people. We admit that some municipalities are better at returning the money than others by making the claims process public and easy to navigate. Unfortunately, that is not the case most of the time. When we discovered this fact, we had to do something. That spawned the birth of RuckWood Recovery Llc. As a St.Louis native and resident (owner and Army veteran) Tamara Rucker-Wood decided that it was time for a change. After long hours and months of research, she found a way to help citizens whose homes and properties had been sold, get back money that is owed to them. Faced with an uphill battle from the local government, lack of process, and lack of knowledge within certain county staff, Tamara Rucker-Wood created a process and paperwork to deliver a smooth, compassionate, and personal experience for those who just need someone who understands as well as cares about their plight.
"I'm proud of what I am doing. No matter what, I'm going to get this money back to the people it belongs to. It is theirs, and they deserve it. It makes no sense for the local government to keep it and place any sort of hurdle in the way of the homeowner. It's like the county doesn't believe that losing their home was punishment enough. Now they want to subject them to endless bureaucracy? It's ridiculous. And they have the nerve to call asset recovery businesses predatory? Well, isn't that the pot calling the kettle black? Only, we aren't the kettle...we are the citizens of St.Louis who see through their greed and nonsense. When my neighbor knocked on my door, told me their home was sold at auction, and they didn't know what to do, or what their options were...I had no choice but to step into action. I'm glad I did."
